YKK Zipper
YKK is a zipper company founded in Japan in 1934 by Tadao Yoshida. In the early years, Mr. Yoshida's company bore his name and was called Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikaisha - or "YKK" for short. This long Japanese name translates into English roughly as "Yoshida Company Limited". Over the years, the letters "YKK" have been embossed on the zipper tabs and thus YKK has become known as the company's trademark.
Since its inception, the company has been constantly growing and developing, and currently has 111 representative offices in 73 countries around the world. More than 45.5 thousand employees work in the company (almost 18.0 thousand in Japan and more than 27.5 thousand employees worldwide).
