This statement is issued by Thumbs-Up Safety in recognition of its commitment to comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 along with all other applicable legal requirements and further requirements relating to the company's specific activities and subsequent hazards.

The Board of Directors intends to take all reasonably practicable measures to reduce the incidence of accidents, personal injuries and ill health occurring at work, whether to employees, sub-contractors or members of the public. This being appropriate to the purpose, size and context of our business and to the specific nature of our OH&S risks and opportunities.

Government legislation and generally accepted codes of practice establish minimum standards for safety and health. However, the Board recognises that the minimum standards will be developed, maintained or improved by professional, technical and medical advice, with consideration to employee suggestions. The company is committed to a system of continuous improvement in OH&S management and OH&S performance, and to being certified to BS ISO 45001:2018.

The company employs the services of a qualified Safety Consultancy to review and advise improvements on a periodic basis and to consult on specific Health and Safety requirements. The Management clearly recognise that the effective implementation of this policy requires the participation of management and employees as defined in this policy.

The Executive Chairman is responsible for ensuring that sufficient funds are set aside to cover any training programmes required to ensure all personnel are adequately competent to undertake the activities allocated to them.

This policy is committed to the elimination of hazards, and the reduction of H&S risks with the overall aim of a zero accident rate. Its effectiveness will come from the individual and combined efforts of us all to make it successful.

We recognise the need to continually improve our Health & Safety in accordance with our objectives and business activities and strategic direction for the business.

In order to achieve this Policy and in compliance with the Health & Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996, the company will encourage employee participation by direct consultation in the implementation of health and safety measures, emergency procedures and the provision of relevant information and training.

This Policy is subject to review on an annual basis.
